Xing, pronounced "shing", is a country east of Amestris, past the desert and the desert ruins, making it quite the journey to get back and forth. The Xingese people are known for their practice of Alkehestry, a form of alchemy which is much more complex but effective, even over long distances, which is hard or impossible with regular Alchemy.
